Mystery books at Nash Library

Filed under: New Books — nashlibrary @ 2:40 am

Have you noticed the new fixture with paperback books on it? Look to your left when you come through the entrance gates and you’ll see a rack full of paperbacks. These mystery books were donated by Dr. Richard Lowitt, USAO Regents Professor of History in memory of his wife, Suzanne Carson Lowitt. Mrs. Lowitt was an avid reader of mysteries.

The neat thing about these books, known collectively as the Suzanne Carson Lowitt Honor System Collection, is that you don’t have to check them out. Just select a book, take it home, read it, and return it when your finished. How easy is that?!?

If you have books to donate to the collection, we’ve provided a box near the book rack. Just drop your donation in the box and we’ll take it from there.

Coming Soon

Filed under: New Books — nashlibrary @ 5:07 am

More than 100 new books will arrive in the next few weeks. To whet your appetite, we’ve created a page of books on order. All but two titles have links to publisher information about the book. Once a title arrives, we’ll keep you updated by putting a little It's Here graphic beside the title.

Books, books, and more books!

Filed under: New Books — nashlibrary @ 9:03 pm

You’ve probably noticed all the books gracing the main entrance to Nash Library. And, if you didn’t, then pay attention :-) !

As you enter the Reference Room, you’ll notice a table full of books. These are books that the Library has just received. You are welcome to remove them from the table and check them out. New books are just like any other book in the Library in terms of the check out period (30 days for students and 90 days for faculty).

Just to the right of the Circulation Desk, we have a display cabinet filled with books related to Independence Day. We plan to have several displays each year. Display topics include holidays, current events, specific authors, or anything else we might come up with. You can suggest a topic, too, by e-mailing us at nashlibrary@usao.edu.
